Leisure Sunday of Cooking
What to do on an unusually cold and windy May Sunday in Kansas?  Cook, of course.  I started last night w/ a super simple recipe for authentic french bread with only 4 ingredients -- flour, yeast, salt and water.  The secret is in the resting time....18 hours.  Then this morning I grabbed a chuck roast while at the grocery store getting my daily Starbuck's Vanilla Latte.  Gotta have that coffee.  I cooked the chuck roast with garlic and canned tomatoes for 6 hours.  Then, I made fresh pasta.  It's sooo much easier than you think and totally worth the effort.  The pasta is soooo tender.  I have big fat strips of fresh pasta sitting in the kitchen right now just waiting to be dropped in boiling salt water.  I'll post pictures later.
